SAP automation with RPA: your processes run without retyping.

NordFlux builds software robots that operate your SAP through the interface: with Power Automate or UiPath, depending on the use case. No modification to your system, even in older ECC and R/3 environments without modern APIs. SAP automation at a fixed price, with your first process live in 30 days.

The Problem

Your SAP can do a lot, but your people are still typing everything in by hand.

In many mid-sized businesses, SAP is the leading system, and yet the processes around it still run by hand. Invoices, orders and master data migrate by copy-and-paste from emails and Excel lists into the transactions.

  • 01Incoming invoices, orders and master data are captured twice: first in the inbox or in Excel, then again by hand in the SAP transaction.
  • 02Your system is an older ECC or R/3 without modern APIs, and every extension via ABAP is expensive, takes months, or gets stuck in IT's maintenance backlog.
  • 03Only a few employees truly master the transactions. During vacation or illness, postings, orders and goods receipts pile up.
  • 04The S/4HANA migration is coming at some point, so no one wants to invest in the legacy system anymore. The manual work still piles up every day regardless.
Use Cases
01

Which SAP processes we automate with RPA.

Five real-world examples, all implemented through the SAP interface, without any change to your system.

01

Post incoming invoices in SAP

The bot reads invoice data from PDF attachments, checks it against the purchase order, and pre-enters it in FB60 or MIRO. Unclear cases land with your team for approval; the rest goes straight through.

Savings 4–8 h per week
02

Maintain master data

Bulk changes to material, customer or vendor master data arrive as an Excel list and are entered by the bot record by record in SAP, with a log of every change.

Impact error-free bulk maintenance
03

Create sales orders from purchase orders

Orders from customer portals, webshops or the email inbox are read and created as a sales order in SAP. The bot works through incoming orders several times a day, including at night.

Savings 3–6 h per week
04

Create reports and reconciliations

The bot exports data from SAP transactions, reconciles it with secondary systems such as DATEV or the webshop, and compiles discrepancies into a report before anyone has to ask.

Impact up-to-date figures daily
05

Post goods receipts

Delivery notes are captured and posted as a goods receipt in SAP. This relieves warehouse and logistics staff during peak times and keeps stock levels up to date.

Savings 2–4 h per week
Tools

Power Automate or UiPath: we choose based on your use case, not a partner program.

Both tools control SAP through the official scripting interface of the SAP GUI. Which platform fits depends on your licenses, the number of processes and your IT landscape.

Microsoft
Power Automate for SAP

Makes sense if your business already works in Microsoft 365: desktop flows operate the SAP GUI, cloud flows connect inbox, SharePoint and Teams. Unattended bots require the Process plan, which we calculate together before the start.

UiPath
UiPath for SAP

The first choice for many or complex SAP processes: dedicated SAP activities, stable selectors, and an orchestrator for operation and monitoring. NordFlux brings UiPath certification and four years of enterprise RPA experience.

Interfaces
When there is an API after all

If your SAP offers modern interfaces such as OData or BAPIs, we check the direct route first, because an API requires less maintenance than any bot. And where SAP renders screens in an embedded browser (Web Dynpro), we automate directly in the browser instead of via the GUI.

How We Work

Your first productive SAP bot in 30 days.

At a fixed price, with a clear acceptance test. You know before the start what it costs and what will be running at the end.

1

Free Initial Analysis

60 minutes, no obligation. We look at your SAP processes and check whether the scripting interface of your SAP GUI is activated or can be activated.

2

Process capture

We document the workflow step by step with your users: transactions, inputs, edge cases. From this we create the bot specification and the fixed price.

3

Bot build and testing

The bot is built in Power Automate or UiPath and runs against your test or quality system until all documented cases pass cleanly. Only then is it allowed into production.

4

Go-live and operation

After acceptance, the bot takes over the process. On request, we monitor the runs, adjust the bot when SAP changes, and extend it to the next process.

Beyond fixed rules

Does your process need decisions instead of fixed rules?

An RPA bot reliably plays back a documented workflow. When a process needs to understand context and weigh decisions, an AI agent is the next step.

Free Initial Analysis

Which SAP process costs your team the most time every week?

In the free initial analysis (60 minutes, no obligation) we work out together whether automation pays off. You get an honest assessment, even if it's: not yet.

  • Fixed price instead of open timesheets
  • No changes to your SAP system
  • You keep control over every bot
Frequently Asked Questions
05

What mid-sized businesses often ask about SAP automation.

Do we need to adapt or modify our SAP system for RPA?

No. RPA operates SAP through the official scripting interface of the SAP GUI, just like a person at the screen, only faster and with a log. Your administrator only needs to activate the profile parameter sapgui/user_scripting and grant bot users the right authorization. There are no transports, no modification, and no intervention in the ABAP code.

Does RPA also work with our old SAP ECC or R/3 without modern interfaces?

Yes, that's exactly what RPA is designed for. The bots work through the SAP GUI interface and don't need OData services or BAPI releases in the backend, just a current SAP GUI client from version 7.50 on the bot machine. This lets you bridge the time until your S/4HANA migration without investing further in legacy system development.

Power Automate Desktop or UiPath: what fits our business?

Power Automate usually fits if you already use Microsoft 365 and are starting with a small number of processes; unattended bots require the paid Process plan there. UiPath pays off with many processes or when a central orchestrator is needed for control and monitoring. NordFlux is certified in both worlds and recommends based on your use case, not on a partner program.

What happens to the bots during SAP updates or the S/4HANA migration?

SAP GUI bots access technical field IDs, not pixel positions, and generally survive normal patches unchanged. If an update changes a transaction or screen, we adjust the bot during ongoing operation. During the S/4HANA migration, we re-record the affected workflows; the process documentation from the RPA project serves as a useful template for that.

What licensing questions do we need to consider for SAP RPA?

There are two levels: the RPA license and the SAP license. On the RPA side, Power Automate requires a Premium license for SAP bots, and unattended runs need the Process plan; UiPath licenses by attended or unattended operation. On the SAP side, a bot can count as its own user or as Digital Access depending on your contract. We clarify both during the initial analysis, before the first bot is built.
